MASTERTON SOUTH BRASS BAND.

In view of the Village Fair to be held by the Band in the endeavour to liquidate the debt on the instruments and raise a fund for uniforms it may be noted that since its inception this band has given some 40 outside performances in various parts of the town, all of which have been well received by the public. Recently the Band took a long lease of the Kuripuni Hall, and are now lusy painting and effecting other much needed repairs, which will make the hall presentable for entertainments. At the same* *^ mo improvement will be appreciatei by the residents pf tha.t locality. The band has also decided to give weekly performances, and this effort on their part will assuredly be fully appreciated by the residents of Masterton, who will doubtless give a full measure of financial support to the Fair, and assist this popular institution. The Fair will be held in the Kuripini Hall on the evenings of Monday and Tuesday next, and on Wednesday evening a monster social will be held. The committee of bandsmen and a strong ladies' committee have been busily engaged for

some time past in making preparation for the Fair, and it now only requires the loyal support of the public t") make it a success.
