A return with reference to the c.ist of administering the Second Ballot Act, up to September 30th, 1909, was presented to the House on Thursday last. The figures given in respect of each district in wnich a second ballot has been held were as follow: —General election, 1908: Waitemata, £358 lis Id; Ohinemuri, £285 Os 6J, Bay of Plenty £416 18s 2d, Gisbome£3o4 14s 8d; Hawke's Bay, £327 9s 4d; Pahiatua, £276 16s lOd; Egmont, £212 18s lOd; Wanganui, £239 19a 9d; Palnuerston, £251 9s 7d; Manawatu. £236 15s; Wellington North, £289 3s sd; Wellington East, £258 5s 7d; Wellington South, £264 Is 8d; Wellington Suburbs, £371 lis 8d; Nelson, £263 9s"3d; Hurunui, £H3 19s 3d; Avon, £336 15s; Ashburton, £235 12s; Geraldine, £305 6s 2d; Timaru, £262 9s 4d; Tuapeka, £306 15s lOd: Chalmers, £2u3 15s 9d; Dunedin North, £267 3s 7d; total, £6,474 lis 3d.
