The winner led all the way, and scored pulling up by several lengths. Iney was a neck, behind the second horse. Time, lmin 14 1 ssec. AJso started— Polynices, Red Wing, Rangikapua. Red Wing led for the first: three furlongs, Thetis and Polynices being next. The winner took command in the straight, and stalling off a challenge by Motukawa won by a short neck. The third horse was half a length behind. Time, lmin 29 2-ssec Spring Handicap, 1 mile and a distance. —Mendip, 8.9, 1; Vi, 7.12, 2; Perolina, 7.13, 3. Also started— Strategist, Rose Lethe, Reformist. Reformist, Mandip and Strategist led in that order to the seven furlongs post, where Strategist took command, giving way to Rose Lethe at the home turn. Vi assumed charge entering the straight. Mendip, with a well timed run, came away and won by a length; Perolina was two lengths behind. Time, lmin SDsac. Shorts, 5 furlongs—Repeat, /7,,7 1; Miss Pigeon, 7.7; 2; Waikehua, 7.7, 3. Also started—Gladiolq, Ukuia, Kimmerian, Moree. The field .was well together till Gladiole took charge .entering the straight. Halfway up Mies jPigeon looked a winner;, .but .fifty yards from home Repeat with a brilliant run scored cleverly by a length, a half length dividing the second and third. Kimmerian, the favourite, made no showing. Time, lmin 3sec. Piripiri Hack, 7 furlongs.—Te Puia, 9.1, 1; Captain Bell, 8.2, .2; Parable, 7.0, 3. Also started—Marathon. Parable was badly left. Marathon' had the best of the start. Entering the straight Captain Bell flattered his supporters, [but was smothered by the winner in the last . few yards. Te Puia scored by half a length; a length between second and third horse, ' who made up a

Stayboy, Glissade, Maiora. The hitter was left at the post. Vasa led to the home turn, with Waipunui close up. In the straight Cyrene wore down the leaders and won by a length. Time, lrrJn 43 2 ssec. FEILDING ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the first day's handicaps and entries for the Maiden Hack Scurry to be run at the Feild<ing Jockey Club's Spring meeting on November 30th and December Ist, close with the secretary, Mr E. Goodbehere, Feilding, at 8.30 o'clock .to night.
