GOVERNMENT AND LAND QUESTION.

Unofficial statements in regard to the Government caucus oh Tuesday last show that there was considerable discussion in regard to the land proposal, and, diversity of opinion. The leaseholders were in the minority, and had to content themselves with giving their dissatisfaction an airing. The Prime Minister's recommendation to reassemble after Christmas in the event of the business being unfinished, there was, it is stated, one dissentient.
