MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows: We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, nides etc. yesterday, when we ofFered 30 bales and 80 bagß wool, 3,2oo'sheepskins, 400 hides, and a quantity of tallow, husehair, rabbitskins, etc. There was a fair attendance ot buyer?. Wool.—The baits offered were mainly mixed bales of lieece, which sold at current rates. We quote: Mixed crossbred, 6d to 7£d, crutchi-itr?, 4d to s£d; dead, Gd to 7d; pieces aud locks, 4d to sd. Skins. - Tlu-re was not such a good selection of ins as usual and prices are in buyers favour. We quote: Crossbreds, 6d to 7£d; crossbreds, 6d to 7d; hoggets, 5d to 5Jd; dead, 4d to sd; dead hoggets, 4d to sd, dry pelts, 4d to sd; half wools, 5d to 5Jd. Hides. —We quote : Ox, 5d to s|d; cow, 4id to 5Jd; cut and slippy, 2d to 4d; calf, up to 7£d. Tallow.—Parcels in shipping order £22 10s. tins £lB to £l9. Rough fat £lO to £l2 Horsehair, Is to Is 4d lb. RabbitskiiiH, B£d. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, December 29 th.
The Wairarapa Farmers' Co«oper- I ative Association, Ltd., and Messrs Daluety and Co. report as follows : We held our monthly sale of wool, skins and hides, at Masterton, yesterday, when we offered 16 bales wool, 70 ba'es wool, 2,000 sheepskins, 100 hides and 500 calfskins. There was a fair attendance of buyers, but we regret the prices realised were not on a par with our previous sale which is accounted for in a drop on the London market tor all classes of sheepskins, however good prices were realised, and are much above he values of this date of last year. We quote:—Wool: Fleece, 6fd to 8d; fleece, inferior, 5Jd; dead wqpl, 6d; dead wool, dirty, 2d; black wool, sd; piece-, 4d; pieces and bellies, 3£d. Bkina: Crossbred, good, 6Jd: i-rosabred, medium, sAcl to 6d; crossbred, damaged, 4|d; crossbred, dead, 4§d to sd; 'dead, damp, 5s 4d each; half wools, 4|d; chorts, damaged, 2£d; ram, 4£d; pelts, 3gd; black, 3Jd; seedy, dead, 4Jd.
