(From o<ar Resident Reporter) Tuesday. The milk supply at the Ballance Company's creamery at Scarborough shows a considerable increase on the amount supplied at the same period in former years, the daily supply now being about 2,000 gallon's, about 1,500 being received in November last year. Hitherto two separators have been found sufficient to do the work, but it is necessary now to iustal another separator of 440 gallon capacity, to cope with the extra supply. The largest supplier to the factory, Mr D, O'Brien, delivers 1,7001b3 of milk daily.
A good attendance is anticipated at the Methodist Church tomorrow evening, when the Wood,ille Methodist Choir, assisted by friends, will render tht! cantata "Day and Night." An item of interest will be the solos (3) sung by Mr P. Davie, the well-known WoodviUe singer, who secured three first prizes for singing at Napier recently. Perry's Salvation Army Biorama Company will start their season here on Saturday next. On Sunday afterneon, shoulrJ the weather prove favourable, a musical pngiarnme will he rendered in the Mayor's (Mr D. Crewe's) grounds, at 3 p.m. A silver collection will bi taken at the gate. The members and intending members of the Pahiatua Cricket Club are requested to attend a practice on the Recreation Ground te-mon'ow afternoon (Wednesday) in anticipation of a match against Mangatainoka on the following Wednesday.
Given a fine afternoon to-morrow, some; important games arc to be played on the local bowling green. At the monthly meeting ol ;tfie Pahiatua District High School Committee last evening, Mr J. D. Wilson was electee! lo fill the vacancy on the Committee, caused by the departure of Mr W. Norrcll. It was decided to hoii a concert in aid of the school funds on December 15th. The headmaster reported that the average attendance at the school was 227, the number on the roll being 252. The largest supplier to the Ballance Company's Creamery at Hamua, Mr Smith, is taking about a ton of milk daily.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their stock sale held in the Farmers' Yards to-day. Our entry comprised several small lines of good useful 2 and 2t year steera. The attendance of buyers was small, consequently competition was not eo keen as of lata. We quote:—S.m. ewas with lambs, 16a to 18s 7d; 2tooth shown wethers to 8s 7d; empty ewes to 9s 3d; woolly hoggers to I4s Id; 2-year steers, good, to £3 12a 6d; 2h and 3-year steers, to £4 7s. We hold our next sale in our Mangahao yards, on the 23rd inst. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., report on their •weekly sale aa follows:—There was a large entry of cattle, which all sold at full late ratas, and resulted in a total clearance of the whole yarding. Sheep: There was a fair entry, but prices were in excess of purchaser's ideas in most cases. Prices were as follows:—Sheep. Forward empty ewes, 12s 6d, 12s 8d; hoggets, mixed sexes, 13s 6d to 14s; wethers, 355. Cattle: Twenty months steers, £2 7s 6d; 2 year steers, £4 4s; -2 year empty heifers, £2 lis to £2 12s 6d; yearling heifers, £1 17s; dairy heifers, at profit, £3, £3 10s, £4, £4 10a, £4 12s 6d to £5; -''ore cows, £2 3s to £2 10s; bulls, £fe 10s to £4.
