(From Oar Resident Reporter) Monday. The Miratr.ar Fireworks Company will give a display nf fireworks in Mr Geo. Oxley's paddock on Monday, 22nd hist. The Company have had large attendances at their exhibitions in the Wairarapa, and will no doubt be well patronised here. The Pallia tua Brass Band will render selections during tne evening. The Makuri-Pongaroa Dairy Com pany will pay out over £500; on the J>oth inst. for milk supplied during October. A large number of books have been added to the Pahiatua Loibr Entries in connection with the dairy cow competition at the forthcoming A. and P. Show will close with the secretary to morrow (luesday) evening, at 8 o'clock. Considerable interest has baen taken in th» competition, and there will no -doubt be a lar«3 entry. WOODVILLE NOTES. The health of Mr Galbraith is causing his friends some anxiety. Mr A. Cox, who has been on a visit to Rotorua, returned home on Saturday last. Losing b ne.necj by the trio. At; the Woodville Cheese Factory 1,700 gallons are now being delivered daily, and it is expected that the supply will reach 2,000 gallons in the height of the season, which up here is about the middle of December. The sum ouf £6OO was paid out for October's milk supply, this being at the rata of lOd per lb of butter fat The average test for last month was 3.65. Already about 30 tons of cheese have been sent away, and 150 cases will leave the factory on the 27th. The manager, Mr E Williams, informed me to-day that about half of the milk supply is from farms that have not been used for dairying before, which nhovvs that the dairying industry has taken on well in Woodville. The largest individual supplier is Mr W. A. Walther, who is delivering 1,300 lbs of milk from a small farm of 85 acres. Thirtyfive suppliers are now delivering milk to the factory. STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their monthly sale at Pongaroa on tiiß I2ch inst as follows:—There was a good yarding of young cattle, which sold well up to recent prices Sheep were represented by one pen of hoggets only, other sheep advertised for the sale having all been sold privately beforehand, Prices realised as follow3:—Hoggets (mostly wethers) up to lis, empty 18month heifers Up to £2 15s, 15month steers £3 2s, 2year steers £3 17s 6d, 2year'emnty heifers £2 18s 6d, springing heifers £2 10s to £3 6s, store cows 50a to 60s, bulls £3 0s 6d.
