PERSONAL.
The many friends nf Mr R. Hamon,. M.P.S., will regret to learn that he has severed his connection with Mr J. V. Gordon, and will leave for Auckland to-day. Mr Hamon, during his eighteen months' residence in this town has been a prominent member of the Golf Club. He will be greatly missed m musical circles, especially by the Amateur Theatrical Society. A farewell social was tendreed to him by a few of his freinds. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Hoffmann, of the Upper Plain, an old and respected resident. The deceased lady was the mother of Mrs A. Stempa, of Upper Plain, and Mrs Bockmann, of Masterton. The relatives will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement. The funeral will take place '.o-morrow afternoon.
