WORKERS AND DEFENCE.
Working men have wives and families, they are certainly not lacking in human affection, and few of them, on reflection, we feel sure, will care to leave the defence and protection of those near and dear to them to the chance efforts of others, says the Christchurch "Press." If there is any one class of the community especially interested in seeing our national defence placed on a sound basis it is the industrial workers, and we trust they will be foremost in insisting that the Government does its duty in this respect. s
