MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

MITTEE

The Works and Finance Committee reported as follows to the meeting of the Borough Council on Wednesday night last: —"The Committee have given consideration to the reference to the Council in the matter of Harding and Hunter, and having heard the Inspector of Nuisance upon the subject matter have resolved that the Council sutd i.o reason to interfere with tin inspector's action. A communis i.iuii was submitted from W. Mcfntiaon Cole, John Morris, A. Renall, R. Johnston, McGregor Bros. The Committee having heard the Borough Engineer thereon have resolved that the matter be lefc in his hands for such attention as is Jfound possible. A communication was submitted from the Mayor of Greytovvn intimating his acceptance of the nomination to reprtsant this Borough at the statutary annual meeting of the .South Wairarapa Hospital Board at Greytown. At the request of the Society the Committee recommend that Councillors Wm. Morris and J. C. Ewington and Mrs Robert Keane be reappointed representatives of this Borough on the Bo3rd of the North Wairarapa Benevolent Society for the year next ensuing. The Com mittee have appointed Councillor W. Morris to represent this Borough to vote at the annaal election of members of the Wellington and Wairarapa Charitable Aid Board. The Committee have considered an application from the Masterton Hospital for a reduction in the account for the supply of water for the quarter ended aOth of June last, ?nd recommend that no action be taken. The Committee have considered a letter from Mr George Wright dated the -Ist of October,' 1909, together with a report of the Major and the Town Cleric thereon and recommend that no actio i be taken. The Town Clerk having reported certain steps taken by him in this matter the Comtnittee have approved of his action."
