The "Daily Telegraph" states that there is an overwhelming majority of Unionist Peers in favour of Lord Lansdowne's amendment, which it is expected will propose to refer the Budget to the judgment of the electorates. Forty Peers, the ''Telegraph" states, have signed a memorial announcing their intention to abstain from voting on the subject.
THE BLACKBURN SEAT,
Received November 11, 8.25 a.m LONDON, November 10.
Lord Robert Cecil, member tor Marylebone, who has accepted an invitation to contest Blackburn at the next election, in an address at Blackburn said he favoured retaliation for hostile tariffs, and agreed with giving trade preference to the colonies. He was, however, strongly opposed to taxes on food.
