A match was ' played in the Park Oval yesterday, between th 3 Masterton and Pahiatua t ama, vacancies in the latter team being filled by local players. Masterton won by an innings and 46 runs. v. S. AUGUSTINE'S.
The cricket match S. Augustine's (Petone) v. S. Matthew's (Master- ' ton) was played on the Schoolground { yesterday, and after an interesting game resulted in favour of the home team by 5 runs, th 9 scores being S. Matthew's 53 and 56 for first and second innings, respectively, to which S. Augustine's replied with 47 and 56 for their two innings. N. Boyd 14, Phillips 15. and F. Madsen JO were the only double figure scorers, for S. Matthew's, while Marsden 17, and 11, and Bennett 20, acted likewise for Petone. The bowling for the Petone team was
in the hands of Bennett, Bowman and Hey, the first-named buing the most successful, while the S. Matthew's trundlers were Boyd, s, Barr and Dixon, the first two heading the list. During their stay h j/e the members of S. Augus.i .e's team were the guests of the local team.
