The Canterbury Carnival will be concluded to-morrow, when the time weight-for-age event, the Canterbury Cup, now run over its original distance, two miles and a quarter, and the Oals, come up. for deciskn. For the Cup the good entry of thirty-one was received, and probably about half a dozen Will start. Three-year-olds have been successful in the race more than horses •rf any other aue, and the older division will find the Derby winner a tough problem. Gu<»d olds.like JWanton and Euroeljdon have won the New Zealand Cup, Derby and Caot<rbury Cup. bir George Clifford his only won the race on one previous occasion, when Treadmill won a* a three-year-old. He has, besides Husbandman, a very useful representative in Taskmaster, son of Tr aJmill. He will be opposed by an other well-performed three-year-old,, Elysian, also All Red and Downfall.
