SHOCKING RAILWAY FATALITY.
The news was received in Master- ! ton I irt evening., on the arrival of the lat ■ train from Palmerston of a shock in* rail a-ay fatality. It appears that as the train was passing through the Gorge a lad named Reginald Knight, sixteen years of age, who was standing on the phtform of a carriage, slipped and fell on the rails. The traiii was immediately stopped,, and, on examination, fie boiy of the unfortui ate youth was found in a frightfully mutilated condition. The deceased waß a son of Mr W. J. Knight, of Eketahuna; and was employed in the Telegraph Department of the Post Office there. Much sympathy will be extended to the ' family, who up till about two years ago were resident in Masterton, the deceased lad having spent his school days here. r
