Nix, an enthusiastic sup- I porter of the local cricket club, has donated a trophy for the best all . round junior In order to ascertain the best player, 10 points will be j allowed for bowling, 10 for batting \ and 10 for fielding, the latter item to be decided by a vote of the team. Mr W. A. Renall has given the club a bag of basic slag for top dressing i purposes, and an anonymous donor has promised a bat for the best batting average during the season. The Railway Department is removing the long-distance semaphore near Booth's Mill, which is not now required. Ac a meeting of registered accountants of the Wauarapa held here on Saturday nighr, it was decided to form a Wairarapa centre of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Mr James brown was elected President, and Mr B'. Trapp Honorary Secretary. A valuable work, entitled "Alcohol, and the Human Body," by Sir Victor Horsley, P.R.S., F.R.C.S., M.8., 8.5., London, and Mary D. Sturge, M.D., London, Physician to the Birmingham and Midland Hospital for Women, has been presented to the local Public Library by Dr. W. H. Hosking, of Masterton.
