ACCLIMATISATION CONFERENCE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 5. At the Acclimatisation Societies' Conference to day a resolution was passed urging the societies to contribute according to their means to the support of the Marine Hatchery at Portobello, Dunedin. A letter was read from Mr Hardcastle, objecting to the provision insisting on a fixed metal tag to the stags head, which the writer held to be needless, and a disfigurement. The matter was referred to the council of the Wellington Society to deal with. The conference has concluded.
