W.F.C.A. v. CAKTtiRTON. Carterton had ar. easy win over W.F.C.A. at Carterton by an innings and 29 runs. W.F.C.A., batting nine, made 53 in their second innings, Phillips making the bulk of the runs (30) by vigorous cricket. The following were the scores: — CARTERTON. The match between the Rival and Carlton teams was concluded on the Park Oval yesterday afternoon, in beautiful weather. With 3 wickets down for 55 Rival continued their first innings, but so well did Styles and Boyd bowl that they were all out for 62, batting one man short. Styles got 6 for 33, and L. Boyd 1 for 13. Carlton started off well, Styles and F. Welch putting up 57 before the former was caucht by Thompson. a catch about which there as some doubt, it being low down, and Styles walking out without any appeal being made or decision being given by the umpire. Styles played a really good innings for 32, being pretty sever* on leg stuff. He gave a chance at 18. F. P. Welch put up a serviceable 23, which included a number of nice strokes. He gave a chance in the outfield when he had made 16. But the best innnigs of the day was the 36 not out compiled by L. Boyd in a very attractive manner. Boyd went at the bowling from the start, and had a liking for the boundary, hitting five 4's. Madsen was in some considerable time for his 14, whic h he laid the _. wood on in getting Berry was the best of the bowlers, and gave the batsmen trouble generally to play. Hooper also bowled well. He had a couple of catches dropped ait him: Ibbetsdn browght off two very goo'd catches. Rivals requiring 181 to' win, reached IQO. Hooper hit the bowling about for 40 not out He had a penchant for leg balls, and 3s strong in this department. Altogether his innings was a very creditable One, .Waters hit hardtfor 29, treating the bowling wich scant courtesy. The remainder of the team did very little towards the score. Styles again bowled well, getting G wickets for 28. Carlton thus won by 80 runs. The scores were as follow:
