CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.
By Telegraph-Press Association. CHIUSTCHURCH, November 4. At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.. the charge of roanslaujfhter against W. A. Humphries, on remand, in connection with the death of Captain Pavitt, was resumed. Counsel for the accused said that he had intended calling evidence simply on the question of alleged insobriety. Evidence was given by Lieut.Colunel Smith, Lieut-Colonel Cooper, Dr Gibson and others, that accused was sober when be left for towo. Accused was committed for trial.
