RACING. ELLERSLIE NOTES. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 3. Light penetrating rain fell at Ellerslie this morning. No work of importance was registered, Dr Shimose, assisted by Rohepotae over the last four furlongs, ran seven furlongs on the sand in lmin 37 4-ssec. Maori King, Winning Post, and Bally Shannon, which arrived yesterday, and were restricted to light exercise.

RICCARTON NOTES. CHRISTCHURCH, November 3. It was a prefect morning, and trainera were out early. The sand track was in excellent order, and the plough afforded improved going. Most of the work was done on the sand. Martyne, with Marline, covered half a mile in 50 l-ssec from a standing start. It was a pleasing performance. AH Red went a mile and a half in 2min 37sec, the last ten furlongs occupying 2min Usee. Diabolo defeated Tawhaki over a mile in lmin 4sec. Sweet Angelus ran five furlongs, the last three in 39sec. Sandstream, Eiysian, and First Gun were given light exercise. Bobrikoff was also out for a fast run. As this was an off day, all the others were out for light to useful tasks.
