MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held on Saturday last. There were present:—Crs Forsberg, Dagg, Jackson, Perry and .Isakson. In the absence of the Chairman, Cr Jacikson was voted to the chair. A copy of the new by-law with the Governor's endorsement was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs. The Paymaster General notified payment of annua! subsidy on general rates collected. C. Burtort and A. W. Miller wrote pointing out the urgent need for metal repairs on north end of Mount iiruce road. The Stock Inpsector directed attention to bifickberries growing 0,1 Brodersen's roud.
Mrs E Dorset wrote complaining of the annoyance and damage caused by stock straving on the roa~s. It was resolved to appoint J. Gooduame and P. C. Ma'lisfn as rangers on the roads. Cr Isakson was directed to make inquiries respecting a family receiving temporary assistance and noMfy trie Clerk as to whether it should be continued. Another recipient of charitable aid was granted seven days to agree to the conditions required by the Charitable Aid Board. A delegate was appointed to represent the Council at the election of a representative on the Charitable Aid Board, with instructions to vote for Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P. Cr Perry was appointed to represent the Council at the election of the Masterton Hospital Trustees. Repairs will immediately be done on Mt. Munro road east, and then metalling repairs are to be effected at McDonald's corner on Mangamahoe road, after which the carts will be employed rounding up the Wangaehu road at Kennedy's. Accounts amounting to £ll6 13s lOd were passed for payment. Tenders will be invited for the j supply of 400 or 500 cubic yards of metal on Mauriceville North road.
