Typaldos's rebels hid in a wood, and attempted to hold up a train, but the gendarmerie captured four of them and nut the rest to flight.
Two wounded officers were arrested in hiding at Athens. Prisoners state that 69 officers signed a protocol to enforce the naval demands, but only 19 fulfilled the pledge. Several regiments, which were mobilised in haste, have arrived at Athens, where the populace threaten to lynch the mutineers.
After Tvpaldos had made his escape, Lieutenant Zeras brought the destroyer Velos to Salamis. The commander of the destroyer Aspis escaped while the rebels were changing their clothes on shore, and steamed to Corinth, and there surrendered.
BUSINESS AT ATHENS AT A STANDSTILL. ONLY SOLUTION OF THE QUESTION. Received November 1, 10 5 p.m. ATHENS., November 1. It is believed at Athens that Typaldos and the other fugitives have reached the mountains and may elude pursuit owing to their local popularity. Business at Athens is almost at a standstill.
Many believe that the only solution of the difficulty will be for the King to invite the Military League to form a Cabinet. The King hitherto has refused direct relations with the League.
Received November 1, 10.35 p.m. ATHENS, November 1. The action of the authorities in preventing twenty of Typaldos's confederates rejoining their ships largely accounted for the failure of the revolt. Mutinous destroyers on Friday night attempted to escape from Salamis Bay, but the loyal flee repulsed them. The officers then landed.
