{From Oar Resident Reporter) Friday. At the local Court, befnrj Mr R. H. Turton, S.M., a civil case which took aomo considerable time to go through as that of H. E. Russell v. S. V. Rodney, Master of the Wood lands Hunt Glut). Plaintiff claimed £9 123 6d alleged to be due for keeping the hounds from August Ist to September Bth. An account had been rendered for £l6 10s, and £l6 7a 6d had been paid by the Club at the rate of 25s per week, being the same as is now paid for the upkeep of the hounds. His Worship gave judgment for defendant. Mr J. H. Murray's cow, which •w as entered for the dairy cow competition at the Carterton P. and A. Show, gave the sphnclid test of 45. Mr G. Ranby, of Hamua, was successful in winning the Maiden Leaping Competition with Huuknui. and Mr J. Sweeney's Flamingo was placed third in the ladies' hacks. Splendid arrangements have been made by the secretaries, Misses K. Bissett and V. Hirst, for the social in aicWtf the Konini Hall, which is being held this (Friday: evoniiia. At Kohunui this evening, at farewell social is being tendered to Mr J. McTavish junior Mr McTavish will be missed from that district, especially in social matters, in which he always took a leading part. The Mangatainoka Cricket Club ■will hold a practice on Saturday afternoon, in anticipation of the match against St. Matthew's Club, Masterton. which is to take place on the former's ground on -November 9th.
