Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: —Although there has been little movement of the barometer the skies have become more unsettled and cloudy, and heavy rain has fallen in Otago. Northerly winds are freshening over the North Island, and westerly in the South. Local indications show stormy weather to the westward of New Zealand, and conditions will probably intensify shortly. High northerly winds are probanle soon in the North, and more unsettled and stormy weather is expected to follow in the South from a westerly area of low pressure, du? to pass on Monday or Tuesday next.
