PARLIAMENT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 28. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Legislative Council met at 2.30. The Aid to Public Works Bill from the House was put through all stages without discussion. Replying to Dr. Collins, the At-torney-General said that he had not considered it necessary to go beyond the architects in connection with the ventilation and sanitary arrangement of public buildings, part of the training of architects having to do with such matters. Mr Jenkinson moved for a return showing the names and particulars of those members of the Railway Department who have received bonuses for suggested impovements in railway work. The Attorney-Geneial opposed this on the ground of time, and
cost. The motion was negatived, and the Council rose at 4 o'clock.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House in the afternoon, on Mr Herdman's motion, decided that a return be presented showing—(l) cost of conducting the last licensing poii in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, A uckland, and (2) cost of poll throughout the whole Dominion.
The afternoon was devoted to a dicsussion on answers to questions. The House rose at 5 p m.
