SPORTING.

RACING. THE MASTERTON MEETING. Arrangements for the spring meeting of the Masterton Racing Club to be held at Opaki on Thursday and Friday next are well forward, and given fine weather the races should prove very successful. * The course is now looking at its best, and the rain of the past few days has made a great improvement in the track, which is now in splendid order. The acceptances are highly satisfactory, and as there are a larger number of outside horses than usual competing, the accommodation at the course and in town is being taxed to its utmost. The Mayor of Masterton has proclaimed a public holiday from noon on the first day. MASTERTON RE-HANDICAPS. The following re-handicaps have been declared by Mr J. H.
