Mr M. T. Steyn, interviewed on the eve of his sailing for South Africa, declared that a coalition Ministry was imposs ble at present, but the existing Ministers might, he said, form a Union Government Hertzog's Educational Act was, he declared,, - working well and would keep the scales even between the two nationalities.

Mr Steyn added: The Union should take over the protectorate at the earliest possible moment. So long as the Imperial Government has direct control of the natives Imperial interference is possible.
