PAHIATUA NEWS.
(From Oar Resident Reporter)
Thursday. Between eight and nine hundred ■gallons of milk is delivered daily to the Kaitawa Co-operative Cheese Factory. Everything is reported to be in good goi.ig order, since this factory was converted from a creamery into the present cheese factory. <Guod quality milk is being received, the tests ranging from 3.3 to 4. The caretaker oi the Recrention Ground is at present cutting the grass and ruahes in readiness for the cricketers for their opening match on Wednesday next. Given a fine afternoon, quite a number of sports have signified their intention of being present.
Like the Mangatainoka Hal!, the Pahiatua Theatre is much too small for a large gathering. Ot late several of the large theatrical companies have paid a visit to this town, and more would probably come were a better Theatre provided. I understand that the takings last night for the Bachelors' Honeymoon was over £Bo.\ Presbyterian Church service will be held at Hukanui on Sunday next, at 2.30 p.m.
Considerable interest is being taken in the n eently formed patrol of Boy Scouts in this town by the youths, and another patrol is to be formed during the coming week. Yesterday a very successful tracking .practice was held. A considerable number of residents from this district contemplates visiting Carterton next week, to attend the annual Agricultural and Pastoral Show.
Mr H. A. Thompson, bookseller and stationer, has a large selection of fancy goods to hand, and cordially invites inspection. -,
