"NOT YET!"
INTEKRUPTED WEDDING SERVICE. A painiul scene occurred at St. George's Anglican Cathedral, Perth, W.A., on Wednesday week, when a wedding ceremony was broken off in an abrupt manner. A few days prior to the date fixed for the ceremony the bridegroom, who appeared to be labouring under extreme nervous excitement, informed the best man that he did not think he would be able to go through with the marriage, and suggested that the wedding be postponed; but it was decided eventually that the ceremony should take place on Wednesday. After entering the church the groom began to act strangely. When the officiating clergyman put the question, "Wilt thou take this woman to be thy wedded wife" there was an embarrassing silence, and the groom, who appeared to be on the point of coilapse, whisered faintly, '-not yet." Twice the clergyman repeated the question; but the only response was the faint whisppr, "Not yet; not yet." The bride became hysterical; hut as soon as she recovered she left the church with her friends. '*' Next day the groom appeared to be calmer, and, expressing great regret for his coniuct.suggested that the wedding be completed i-rivately.
