CAPTAIN PAVITT'S DEATH.

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct>berlß, A Press representative asked Inspector Gillies today if there.was any news regsrdingv the motor car fatality, and he replied: "No. You will have to wait a bit." , It is understood' thaMh&papers connected with the fatality have ,been forwarded to the Minister o£ Justice, and that the Officer Commanding the Canterbury Volunteer and Military District is in communication with the Chief of the General Staff (Colonel Robins, C.8.) on the subject of holding a Military Court to enquire into the circumstances connected with the fatality. The late Captain Pavitt, having been on duty at the time of the fatality, his relatives will, it is stated, receive compensation from the a Defence Department. The amount of such compensation is not known.
