RIBY GROVE STOCK SALE.
HIGH P&ICES FOR ENGLISH || RAMS. 11 We cull the following from the I "Yorkshire Post" of July 9th#,! 1909: 1 Mr Henry Dudding's annual sale of i pedigree cattle and sheep at Riby Grove, Stallingborough, near Grimsby, yesterday, attracted purchasers from almost every portion of the world. The display was a capital one, and the competition was exceedingly keen. Forty-eight rams totalled £4,170, averaging £B6 17s 9d. When the rams were offered the competition reached fever heat. The first ten offered averaged 200gs each, and not one of them was sold at under lOOgs. price was 600gs, paid by Mr Miller, of Birkenhead, for the Royal Show winner Riby Gloucester Champion. The ram was purchased for exportation to Argentina. Mr' George Marris, of Lincoln, gave JiOOgs for Riby Nocton Enterprise, also-Jt Royal Show prizewinner. Senor Pablo Ollivera, of Buenos Ayres, parted with a like sum for Riby Gloucester Leader, and with 250gs for Riby Gloucester 11., a Royal and Nottinghamshire Show winner. Mr Miller gave 240gs for Riby Nocton, Enterprise 11, lOOgs each for Riby Gloucester 111 and Riby Nocton Enterprise 111, and IBogs for Riby Bendigo, purchased fur exportation. Mr Pears, of Mere Hall, Mocton, Lincolnshire, and Mr Ward, uf Warrington, were amongst the few remaining British buyer®. A leading feature in the management of the Riby Grove flock is the long period, during which Quibell's Dips have been used on it, and whatever other d ps may have been in use, we have Mr Dudding's authority for stating that QUIBELL'S "always gives tha greatest satisfaction."*
