The Rev. J. H McKenzie, of Nelson, was nominated at yesterday's meeting of ihi Wellington Presbytery for th • position'of morleriitjr of the Oen<=rnl Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in 1911. A Press Association message from Auckland announces the death of the Ven Archdeacon Floyd, at Suva. The rzessage adds that the body is being conveyed from Suva to Levuka. At a joint meeting of the Napier Hospital Trustees and Hawke's Bay Charitable Aid Board, Mr J Scheele was appointed secretary of both bodies, in succession to the late Captain Baker. The death was announced in Auck land last week of Mr F. E. N. Crombie. who was well-known in the Northern City Mr Crombie was born in Auckland", 42 years ago, hut his early life was spent in England. He returned to New Z?aland seventeen years ago, and took a great interest in spnrt and charities. He was a vice-commodore of the Auckland Rowing Club, and at one time held the position of secretary of the Auckland Golf Club. The death occurred at Pukehou, Hawke's Bay, on Monday, at the age of 91 years, of Mr Edward Marsh Williams, eldest son of the late Archdeacon Henry Williams, of Waimate The deceased was one of those who witnessed the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, and he was employed to obtain signatures of Maoris to it. He was for many years Resident Magistrate ac the Bay of Islands, and afterwards a Judge of the Native Land Court. On retirement he resided at Auckland, but eventually settled in Hawke's Bay.
