Bates' summary and forecast High pressure has continued over the North Island, but a smart fall has taken place in the South. During the past 24 hours moderate westerly winds and fine weather have prevailed in the North, and strong to gale from the same direction over the South. The barometer has risen slightly at Biuff since noon, and winds but veered to south-west since then,have a further fail i 3 expected, and rain is probable south of Kawhia and Castiepoi"t, with gale and unse tied weather, and a falling birometer with freshening wester.ies arc; provable elssA-here shortly.
