MASTERTON THURSDAY ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The seventh annual meeting of the Masterton Thursday Cricket A3Sociation was held in the secretary's office last evening. Mr A. H. Rothenberg (W.F.C. A)presided, and there were also present Messrs E. F. Fairbother and V. Fair brother (Carter ton), J. Waters (Rivals), F. P. Welch and E. Coilinge (Carlton), and A. Caselberg (W.F.C.A.) The officers for the ensuing year were elected as fallows: —Patron,
Mr W. B. Chennelb; President, Mr W. H. L. Galwt>y; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. C. Buchanan. T, E. Maunsell, D. Caselberg, A. C. Major, A. Henderson, and Dr A. J. Cowie; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr A. Congdon; Auditor, Mr G. W. Sellar; Fixtures Committee, Messes E. Coilinge, J Waters, and V. Fairbrother. Trophies were allotted as follows: —Mr Chennells' bat, best batting average, Mr A. C. Feast (Carterton) ; Dr Cowie's gold medal, highest individual score, Mr N. Madsen (Carlton), 75; Mr Henderson's gold sleeve links, for the best player under 21 Mr A. Hoar (Carlton). The allocation of Mr A. C. Major's bat was left tor the committee to deal with. It was resolved that the Cup fixtures commence on Thursday, October 21st.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring secretary (Mr F. P. Welch) for his work in that capacity. FIXTURES. October 2lst and November 4th.— W.F.C.A. v. MASTE3TON CRICKET COUNCIL
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meetine of the Maaterton Cricket Council was held last evening, in Mr F. P. Welch's office. There were present,—Messrs E. Collmge (Carlton), in the chair, P. P. Welch (Carlton). W. Redmond and C. J. Mackellar (Master ton), A. Caselberg and A. H. Roth> enberg (W.F C.A.), A. Congdon (United). The election of officers resulted as follows Chairman, Mr W. H. L. Galwey; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr A. F. Esson; Auditor, Mr C. Perry; Finance Committee, Messrs W. H. L. Galwey, F. P. Welch, A. Caselberg, A. Congdon; Ground Committee, Messrs A. 11. Rother.berg, E. Collinge and C. J. Mackellar.
It was resolved that subject to the approval of the Finance Committee a roller and sprinkler be procured this season. The secretary was instructed to write to the chairman of the Park Committee, asking him to fix a date as promised, for a meeting of the Park Committee, at which members of the Ciicket Council could express their views as to putting a fence round the Park Oval. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr F. P. Welch for his services as secretary during the past five years, several of those present referring in eulogistic terms to Mr Welch's ability in that capacity.
