RIFLE SHOOTING.
MEETING IN SYDNEY. GOOD SHOOTING BY MARENZI. Received October 11, 11 p.m. SYDNEY, October 11. The Srifie matches in which Interstate competitors are engaged commenced to-day in fine, cool weather. In the early stages of the Jubilee match there was some good shooting at the 600 yards range. Marcnz (Eketahuna) ani James (New Zea land) and two local men secured the possible. The w;nd became puffy when the 700 yards range was being fired and most of the previous scores were sadly discounted. The practice of withholding details of the scores at various ranges till th°. conclusion of the last range makes it impossiole to obtajn particulars till a late hour. Received October 12, 12.40 a.m SYDNEY, October 11. The Jubilee match was won by Matthews of Victoria, with score of 100. Two local men were second and third, respectively, with 99 and 98 The following were the scores of the New Zealanders:—Patrick 97 (recieves £4), Dewar 90 (£3), Munro ;94 (£2), Craw and Clyde 93 each (£2), King 91 (£1).
