AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION SCHEME.
MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS THE MOVEMENT. Considerable discussion was provoked at the meeting of the Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association by a letter from the Secretary of the recent Conference of A. and P. Association's asking that the local Association donate £5 annually to send two students to the Melbourne University Veterinary School, which is in charge of Mr Gilruth. Mr W. Perry reported that the Chairman of the Conference had outlined a scheme by which though they had lost Mr Gilruth they might still be able to take advantage of his services. The scheme is as follow^:—"Two scholarships value £7n per annum (tenable for five years), to be awarded annually till the total number of Government scholars is ten. 1. Each scholar to insure life with Government Insurance Depart ment for £4OO, the premium to be deducted from the annual payment of £75. The policy to remain th« property of Government till termination of agreement. 2. Each scholar on graduating to serve in a State Department for a period of three or four years at a stated salary (£2O
