It may not be generally Known that the greatest candlemaking establishmsnt in the world U in England. It is that of Price's Pathxt . Candle Company, Ltd. with two other large factories, one at Battersea on the Thames, and the other on the Mersey, ne\r Birkenhead, covering together thirty acres, and giving employment to abou' '2,200 people. The leading position held by the. company is shown n6t merely by thf-ir having received the large number of eighty-six awards at the princip il International Exhibitions during the past half century, but especially by the un que fact that five of these are Grand Prix gained in the greatest candle-pro-ducing countries of the European continent —namely, in Antwerp in 1891, Amsterdam in 189 ii, Brussels in 1897, aud Paris in 1899 and 1900. Some of the company's specialties are: Gold Medal Palmiune, Grand Priae Parastrine Shade, and liest Steavine Candle; 'Childs', Itoyal Castle, 1 New Patent and Palmitine Star Night Lights; Regina, Glycerin Cream, and Cosrt Toilet Soap 3. Gas Engine and other Lubricating Oils. Glycerin absolutely pure, Price's Soaps and Candles are stocked by all Grocers and Storekeepers in the Wai r.irapa district.*
