MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Gen • eral Committee of the Masterton A.'and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present:—Mr Hugh Morrison (in the chair), and Messrs H. A. Matthews, J. Strang. G. Shaw, J. M. James, W. D. Watson, W. Cooper, A. D. McMaster, W. J. Welch, W. H. Buick, R. J. Dagg, 0. C. Cooper, J. C. McKillop, D, McGregor, jnr., W. Perry, A. J. Stone-wigg, E. Harper, R. Gray, A. J. Percy, A. G. Pilmer, J. D. Cruickshank.
Apologies for absence were recieved from Messrs G. C. Summerell, J. Perry alld F - w - Kummer. Mr James Stuckey, the Association's delegate at the International Conference of Sheepbreeders, .held at Gloucester in June last, wrote forwarding copies of the report of the proceedings extracts from which have already been published in these columns. It was decided to forward a letter or thanks to Mr Stuckey. The Ground Committee reported that they had decided to call tenders for grazing Solway from October 16th of January 31st, 1910. The question of calling for competitive designs for the new Solway buildings had -been hel3 over till naxt j meeting. The report wa3 adopted.
Mr J. McMaster wrote resigning his position on the General Committee as he found that he had not sufficient time at his disposal to attend the meetings.—Mr O. Cooper moved that Mr McMaster be asked to allow his name to remain on the Committee, as it was not expected that the district representatives couH attend as regularly as other members. Mr McMaster took a keen interest in the Association at all times, and they could not affoid to lose his services. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr A. Murray wrote accepting the position of district representative for Waterfalls. Mr Henry Toogood, also wrote accepting a similar position for Whareama.
A litter was received from Mr S K. Lancaster, of Palmerston North, thanking the Association for electing him representative for that district. Messrs Abraham and Willhms, agents for Lawes" Chemical Co.. Ltd., wrote advising the Association that the firm intended to present a 25-guinea challenge cup for competition at the next Show for the best Lincoln ram under 21 months, to be won three times.
On the motion of Mr J. D. Cruickshank, it was decided that the donors be thanked for the offer.
