Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pongaroa sale on Friday as follows:—We submitted a large yarding of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance. The bidding was spirited throughout the sale, practically every pen selling under the hammer, in excess of vendors' expectation?. We quote:—Ewes and iambs (fair percentage young ewes), 16s Id; hoggets mixed sexes, lis 9d, lis lOd, 12s Id; yearling steers, £2 10s(jd; mixed yearlings, 35s 6d to 87s 6d; yearling and 18 month heifers, 395; 2yr steers, £3 15s; 3yr steers, bad colours, £3 7a 6,1; dairy cows, £4 7s 61 to £6 15s; empty store cows, 30s to £2 10a; fat cows, £4 7s 6d ; springing heifers, £4, £4 15s; 2yr empty ht-ifers. £2 lis; bull', 38s 6d to £2 10a.
At the "Mart," Pahiatua, on Saturday, pigs realised the following prices:—Weaners, 53 6d to lQs 6d; slipi, 15s to 18s; stores, 19s 6d to 28a 6d. Poultry.—Turkey gobbler, 8s; turkeys, 3s 6d to 4s; ducks, 4s 6d psr pair. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Eketahuna stock sale, held on Friday last, as follows:—We-had a small yarding of sheep and a goodf) one of cattle, and with the exception of one or two pens of aged cows we make a
total clearance at prices in favour of vendors. Quotations: —Aged ewes and lambs, 12a; hoggets to lis 4d; empty heifers, £2 5s to £2 15s; springing heifers, £4 to £4 12s 6d; cows just calved, £4 103 to £6 ss; 2 year steers, £3 Bs. Pigs: Porkers, 17s to 21s; weaners, 13s 9d to 16s; young black Devon sow«, 25s to 27s 6d.
