(From Oar Resident Reporter) Thursday. The Poster and Fancy Dres3 Skating Carnival held in the Drill Hal last evening was a splendid success, and the rink proprietors Messrs Watts and de Rose had all the arrangements well in hand. The evening's proceedings were enlivened by selections rendered by the Pahiatua Brass Band, and a good supper was provided by Mr A. East. During the evening a youth's race was run, the winner being S. Grinlintun. The question of selecting the most graceful lady skater, the most graceful man skater, and the most original costume, was lift in the hands of the public, the verdict being as follows: —Lady: Miss Evans and Miss Hughes obtained the same number of votes, Miss Evans winning on the toss of a coin. ' Gentleman: Mr L T. Herbert. Most Original Costume: V. Cox, representing Hannah's Footwear. The following appeared in "poster" costumes:—E. Godso, representing W.F.C.A.; G. The Bush District Rugby Union's annual ball is to be held at Nireaha on Friday evening. Arrangements for the bail are in the hands of an energetic committee and a large attendance is anticipated.
