HASTINGS RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. HASTINGS, October 7. The second dav of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Clubs spring meeting was held to-day, in glorious weather. The totalisator investments amounted to £6,107, making £12,099 for the two days, as compared with £13,818 last year. Nine bookmakers were on the ground. Results:— Mangapapa Hack Hurdles, one mile and ahalf.—Waipunehu 9.11, 1; Martynum 9.11, 2; Nadine 9.6, 3. Also started—Haurangi, Burton. Won by four lengths. Time, 2min 40aec. Ngatarawa Hack, once round.— Cork 7.0, 1; First Gun 9.0, 2; King's Prize 8.13, 3. Ako started —Polynices, Master Stent. Won by half a length. Time, Imin 51sec. Hawke's Bay Guineas, one mile — Elysian 9.1, 1; Maori King 8.10, 2; 8 10, 3. Also sfarted— Nautiform 8.10, Golden Water Reformist, Waimoa and Expansion, 8.5. Won easily by two lengths, three lengths separating second and third. The favourite Nautifprm Was in the lead half the way, but gave way to the others nearing home. Time, lmin 41 2-ssec.
Te Mahanga Hurdles, one mile and a half.—Corazon 10.0, 1; Forest 9.8, 2; Polyanthus 11.2, 3. Also started —Kangihaeta, Rawhiti and Le Beau. Won by a long neck. Time, 2 min 49 2-ssec Juvenile Handicap, four furlongs Winning Post 7.13, 1; Bunkum 7.12, 2; Lord Kelvin 7.12, 3. Also staited-Entente, Sea Eagle, Enyo, Suffragette, Ngakau, Colleen Mary. Won by three lengths. Time, 49 3-ssec. Spring Handicap, one mile and a quarter.—Sandatream 8.0, 1; Downfall 8 13, 2; Diamond Star 6.10, 3. Also started —Bridge and Mysticism. Won by three lengths. Time, 2min 7 2 sstc.
Flaxtnere Hack Handicap, six fur-longs-Multiple 7.9, 1; Awha 7.8, 2; Waioriki 7.9, 3. Also started— Mereiiifre, Idealism and Motukawa Won by a length. Time, Imin 15 l-sscc. Finul Handicap, six furlongs.— Kilindini 7.8, 1; Bliss 6.7, 2; Vi 7.11, 3, Also started—Truganioi, Voetgang and Ideate. Won by two lengths. Time, 1 min 15 l-ssec.
