The first day of the Hawke's bay Jockey Club's Spring Meeting to-day was favoured with fine weather and a good attendance. The sum of £5.992 was invested on the totalisator as compared with £6,379 on the same day last year, or a decrease of £387. Eleven bookmakers were on the ground.
