"AN ENGLISHMAN'S HOME."
The box plan for the forthcoming production of the play "An Englishman's HomjD," which will take place at the Town Hall, Masterton, on Wednesday next, will be opened at Miss Rive's, to-morrow, Friday, morning. A Sydney morning l paper says:—-"Such wj.s the unexampled prestige that preceded "An Englishman's Home" that more than a thousand seats were reserved for the "first night in Australia" at the Iheatre Royal on Saturday. The performance was witnessed by a brilliantly representative gathering. Thp house was stirred by a aeries of martial airs from the orchestra, and joined heartily in the strains of the National Anthem, by which one and all were finally placed in an eminently receptive condition for response to patriotic appeal This appeal is the soul, the living power, of the new pfec."
