Earl Grey (Governor-General of Canada), has delivered a remarkable series of specehes at Calgary, Edmonton and Regina, upon Canada's duty to the Empire. speaking at Regina in laying the corner stone of the Sackatchewan Parliament House, Earl Grey declared that if British Supremacy wera interfered with even for one season, or if a hostile cruiser stopped the export of grain from the Saint Lawrence or Vancouver, every farmer would suffer. "The people of the Motherland have gallantly undertaken the responsibility ensuring single handed the safety of your overseas trade until you are strong enough to come to her assistance," said the Earl, "your self respect, and self interest alike, "will not allow you to permit your overburdened mother to perform your duty when you are able to do it tor yourself. You should be an- ! xious to support the Federal Government in its endeavours to create a Canadian navy "
