Mr Stanley Grant, touring manager for Edwin Geacb, is at present in Masterton, arran«ing for the production of "An Englishman's Home" in the Town Hall on Wednesday, October 13th. ' Mr Robert, Hunter, of the firm of Bethune and Hunter, who have been Lloyd's agent in Wellington for many yea) s, died on Monday night, aged 76 years. He had been a resident of Wellington since 1840. Miss Hilda Corbett, a popular £> young lady of Masterton, who has -' been on the otaff of the local Telephone Exchange during the past five years, is to be transferred to Wellington, leaving for that place on Thursday. A Press Association message from Eltbam states that Mr G. P. Wake, Government candidate; who went to the second ballot for the Egmont seat at the last general election, was on Monday night presented with a purse of sovereigns and an autograph album by friends and supporters, in view of his approaching marriage, which will take place to-day.
