The proposed dinner to be given by the Explorers' Club, of New York, in honour of Dr. Cuok, the Polar explorer, has been postponed pending investigations of his claim to having ascended Mount M'Kinley. The National Geographical Society, whereof £>r. Cook is a member, declined to accord him official recognition when lecturing in Washington to-morrow.
