ALLEGED THEFT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., October 3.

At the S.M. Court, to-day, Alex. Muir, till a year ago an employee of the Longburn Freezing tfrork s, was charged with theft on 33'countj, involving over £BOO from the National Mortgage Agency Company, proprietors of the freezing works. The alleged thefts were made by means of cheques over a period from April, 1905, till July, 1908. Accused was Btoreman and graded in the tallow department. He was remanded for eight days, bail being fixed at £6OO.
