BENGOUGH.
Bengough, the cartoonist and 1 humorist from Canada, who will appear here on Thursday. October 7th. met with great success during his recent Wellington season. The criitics of that city were unanimous in I praise of the brilliant Canadian and the novelty of his entertainment. The Wellington "Evening Post" remarks: —"He has a way with him, Bengough, delineator of human nature in art-lines and storiettes. Last evening the Canadian cartoonist and ra conteur, according to contract, entertained an audience that easily filled the hall, and there was no breach of agreement. From the outset the visitor took the crowd off its collective feet, and thereafter.it followed him enthusiastically. Bengough possesses that genuinely fine sense of humour, and the capacity to translate it.to paper with the slight exaggeration that drives the point home. His line work speaks for itself, literally." Bengough is assisted by Borneo Gardiner, the marvellous boy whistler, Claude Allan, baritone, and Dora Carroll, pianiste. The box plan is at Messrs McLeod and Young's.
