The Budget of the Colonial Treasurer, Hon. F. Wilson, estimates the revenue for the current year at £3,426,000, and the expenditure at £3,387,000. The season has been the best for ten years. It is expected that there will be a twelve bushel harvest, and three million bushels will be available for export. Since its start the Agricultural Bank has advanced over a million pounds to farmers. The construction- of agricultural and other railways will be continued wherever justifiable, and land settlement will be pushed forward".
