NEWCASTLE COAL VEND.

OWNERS' EXPLANATION. Received Septebmer 28 9.10 a.m. SYDNEY, September 28. The Coalowners' Association denies that the barque Laura was refused cargo, as stated. It is explained that pnbably the vessel was unable to obtain a supply from some collieries, because they have orders booked for months ahead. The Laura is now loading with Aberdare coal. It is understood that the Fedaral Government intends to make further enquiry into the reports regarding the alleged Coal Vend.
