WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Levin and Co.. Ltd , report as follows regarding Friday's sale:— We offered 15 bales of wool, 2,500 skins, 1,600 hides and calfskins an 1 a quantity of tallow and horsehair.
There was a good attendance of buyers and in sympathy with the advance in London, prices rose in a marked manner. Bidding was vtry animated. Wool: Very iittle is now offering but the few bales avaiiabie were snapped up eagerly by buyers at satisfactory prices. We quote: Crossbred fleece, none offering; lambs, none offering; superior crutchings, 4|d to 5Jd; medium :
crutchings, 4d to 4Jd; inferior crutchings, 3d to 4d; pieces and bellies, 2d to 4d; locks, ljd to Hd. Skins: Fine skins advanced Id, and crosobreds, fd to Id. Dead skins £d. Green skins were strongly competed for at the full advance. We quote: —Fine crossbreds, 8d to 9d; crossbreds, 7d to 8d; lambs skins, 5Jd to 6£d; dead skins, 4d to 6d; dead hoggets, 5d to 6d; quarter-bred to half-bred wools, 4:1 to s£d; dry pelts, 2|d to sd; green skins, 5a to Bs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins and hides on Friday, whjn they offered a good catalogue of all classes to the usual attendance of buyers.
